AMC promotes Polarity-Free and Low-Power RS485 in water, gas and heat meters application

Water, gas, and heat meters need low power consumption as their first priority. The lower quiescent current of interface chip is the more saver meter’s power consumption. AMC promotes the low power RS485 chip, named AZRS6487, which reduced the quiescent current to 60μA and built polarity-free function into the chip. As long as the chip power-on, it immediately completes the polarity detection and judgment, and then executes the polarity correction. When constructing, it doesn’t pay attention to the polarity of the signal line on the bus. Therefore greatly enhances the ease of wiring.
Furthermore, the chip includes a full ESD protection design. Each pin of the chip meets the best ESD protection specifications and has built-in TVS protection at interface pins. Such that, customers’ products can achieve the system-level contact discharge protection to 15kV without additional components.
